Saweetie has made history as ESPN’s first-ever female music curator for Monday Night Football, an announcement that marks a turning point in sports entertainment and music culture.

Over the course of the 2025–26 NFL season, she will hand-pick songs for select MNF games, which will be featured in promotional spots, live broadcasts, and during Monday Night Countdown. The launch was celebrated at a pop-up event in New York City called the ESPN Red Nail Bar on September 6, where fans got themed manicures, photo opportunities, and a preview of the collaboration. Saweetie said that being chosen feels especially meaningful because of her family’s long ties to football: her grandfather played in the NFL, and both her father and uncles played in college. She also teased that she’ll spotlight emerging artists as well as possibly include some of her own songs in the mix. In a nod to her Bay Area roots, she indicated that “Do It for the Bay,” her collaboration with P-Lo, would be her ideal walk-out track.

ESPN’s vice president of sports marketing described the partnership as bringing fresh energy and cultural relevance to Monday Night Football, underlining that Saweetie’s musical taste, persona, and creative influence make her an ideal fit to shape the soundtrack of one of the most-watched games of the week. With MNF returning on September 8, fans will begin to hear her selections immediately.

This move not only gives Saweetie a new platform but also signals a broader shift toward diversifying voices in roles that influence how sports are experienced beyond just the field.
